Why we recommend it
Check two things before buying: that the height is adjustable, and that the surface is textured. A fixed-height step stops being useful the moment you progress, and a smooth one is genuinely unsafe once you start sweating.
It doubles as a bench for step-ups and incline push-ups, which makes it more useful than it first looks.
