Step aerobics, brought back properly
One platform, endless patterns, serious cardio.
- One low platform is the only equipment
- Adjustable height changes the intensity instantly
- Builds leg endurance and coordination together
Step adds a single piece of kit and a vertical dimension, which turns ordinary cardio into something that trains your legs and your coordination at once. The patterns build across a session.

Step questions
What can I use instead of a step?
A sturdy low stair or a solid box of the right height works. It must not slide, and it must take your full weight without flexing.
What height should I start at?
Start low — about 15cm. Your front knee should never rise above your hip when you step up.
Is step bad for the knees?
Not when done correctly. Step down toe-first with a soft knee and keep the platform low, and the loading is very manageable.
